Tastes

Visual appearances, dark coconut in color, fairly viscous, moderate legs. Aroma has notes of heavy oak and visible citrus in the back, reminiscent of a freshly opened clementine, subtle hints of cherry blossom on the back end. Tasting notes include a fruit forward honey lemon front end with a robust oaky finish.

The aroma has notes of Vanilla, oak, and allspice, subtle hints of cinnamon. Upon tasting, the bourbon has a velvet mouth feel. Hints of vanilla, nuttiness, caramel, an almost s'mores tase, and an oaky afterbirth finish. For a mashbill with 36% rye, this bourbon is extremely well balanced with no spiciness we relate to rye whiskeys. An absolute treat.

A lot of spice from the rye followed by a good deal of smokey tastes and smell from the used bourbon barrels.
