RD One Bourbon Finished with Brazilian Amburana Wood
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 2, 2024 (edited February 9, 2024)After trying the Penelope Rio, I have officially turned into a fan of the Amburana finish. Not as good as the Rio but what is? This is a spicier finish and a bit rough around the edges. Finish hits you quick, is long and a bit untamed. More like Big Red compared to that cinnamon toast crunch that Rio has. George Dickel 15 Year Tennessee Single Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 31, 2021 (edited March 10, 2021)So much better than the 13 year bonded. That stuff almost made me write off Dickel. That being said, much prefer the good stuff from Chattanooga and Jack. Don't be fooled by their age statements.64.27 USD per Bottle -
Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon French Oak Finish
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020Very easy to drink. Smooth and non offensive. I get a very sweet corn flavor with this one. A bit dry. Faint mint and Oak presence. Too sweet for my taste. Was hoping to get that tobacco note the expert reviewer mentioned but I must have missed that. Similar to Buffalo Trace Straight Bourbon Single Barrel in sweetness but smoother.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Woodinville Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed April 26, 2020 (edited June 19, 2020)Usually prefer higher proof bourbons but am pleasantly surprised with this one. Not too light like most other 90 proofs in my opinion. Has a good short finish with no burn. Oakey with a bit of leather. This stuff has been getting a lot of buzz. Although I can't find it on shelves, look forward to trying their many other offerings, especially their higher proof ones. Definitely 4 stars for a 90 proof.39.99 USD per Bottle -
Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 25, 2020 (edited October 29, 2022)Very similar to Eagle Rare. It's sweeter but Eagle Rare has a better finish. Kind of leather for the Eagle. For me, I am not a fan of too sweet so I give the edge to the Eagle along with the better finish. I won't even bother comparing it to the Colonel.28.0 USD per Bottle
