I got to taste it at the World of Whisky in Edinburg, but when I asked to buy a bottle, to my dismay, they were out of stock. I looked EVERYWHERE for this stuff. 3 difference cities, I popped into every liquor store I saw in search of this bottle, and EVERYONE was either sold out or had never even heard of it. Finally, on my last day in Scotland, off the beaten path, in a non-descript store, on a dusty shelf, I found a dusty bottle, and I literally RAN to it, grabbed it, and brought it up to the cashier. Didn't look at the price. Didn't care. To this day, I have no idea what I paid for it. All I know is it's one of my prized possessions. So uh... yeah, it's pretty good!

Much better than I expected. It's got character, spice, a great nose and it's got a pretty smooth finish. Can't beat the price. Great by itself or in an old-fashioned

Really solid bottle. Better than regular Makers, which is always a great pour. The cherry notes are very present in this expression. I paired it with a pomegranate after dinner, and that combo was mind-bending.

A lovely malt with a really light and sweet flavour profile. From my perspective, the best part is the hint of pear juice on the nose and a lightly toasted oak finish. It goes down reaaaal smooth. At 40% ABV, it certainly won't knock you out of your seat, so if you're looking to get into scotch, this would be a fantastic and reasonably priced place to start. Pour yourself a dram!

I love this stuff so much that the day after I cracked open my first bottle, I ran back to the store to buy 3 more. The high ABV really amplifies all of the flavours. Simultaneously sweet and savoury, but the smokey notes are the highlight for me. Almost has a mesquite note. If you can find it, get it!

The selling point for me was really the mellowing in mesquite. I was really hoping for a more present smokey profile with a hint of bbq. But what I got was a really smooth, good quality, full flavored bourbon. Its nice and woody on the nose, and goes down easily. Nothing to complain about! just would have been nice to see the mesquite shine through as a flavour enhancer.

It was on sale at a significant discount, so I picked it up, having never tasted it. Was my gamble worth it? YES. On the nose, it smells toasty, almost fruity, a bit woody, and the distinct rye spiciness comes through. On the palate, much sweeter than expected. A mildly bitter finish. The spiciness of the rye really shines, thanks in part to the 46% abv. Not something I'd consider putting on ice, as I think the higher-than-average abv is this spirit's saving grace. It really gives it some character. As someone who is only just discovering ryes as a viable competition to bourbon and scotch, I'll admit, this one hits the mark. I like it. I'd probably buy another bottle.
