Listen folks the reason why you pay so much for macallan is they sold all their aged stuff years ago for filthy lucre and have nothing left!! So now you pay over the odds for 12 yr old IF you can find it. Their new stuff is half decent but NOT aged. Maybe 5 to 8 yrs and called the reserve balls etc. that is why the 25 is and will remain the ultimate balance for many people between superb taste and legend

A 91/92 is fair. It's high quality stuff done to the best of USA abilities but will never hit the highs of real scotch. When I drank the 20 yr old I sold my bottle of the 23 yr old for a tidy profit. Ah you say - bad move - no - I could buy 2 bottles of 25 yr old macallan with the dough. Think of that...

For this outstanding dram u have to understand the role of water with scotch. No other whiskey in the world IMHO opens like the 18 yr glenlivet, I, as a Scot understand that when your whiskey journey begins often islay is where it starts but speyside is where it gravitates to. The fruit that opens with every drop of water that is put in is amazing. I have had more water than 18 year old in my glass and still found new flavors of fruit. It is all about fruit my friends, everyone finds it different but the fruit is ALL

Johnnie Walker Explorers' Club Collection The Royal Route
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed July 8, 2016 (edited July 9, 2016)One to give the inlaws. Very OTT box and the light color hints at the first sign of trouble for me. Shame I didn't notice it more at the duty free. I wanted a change really. A blend has to have a bit of peat in it for me , like the blue or grouse. This has not much of anything really, nothing to offend. The wife likes it. Probably the quickest finishes I've ever had in any whiskey. Shocking for the dollars.
