Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 19, 2014 (edited December 10, 2014)Mid range mellow corn and dried cherry floral nose, and wood. Flavour registers mid and back of tongue. With two drops of water, toffee and fruit aroma comes out. Smiths out best with 4 drops of water. Dry sweet after taste. Would make for nice bourbon cocktails. -
At full strength, Mellow smooth corn, charred, oily, burn around the perimeter of the tongue, herbal and almost bitter at back of tongue. If trying straight, be careful not to burn your palette. With about half teaspoon, flavours show up on the mid pallate. woody, fruity, sour note on middle to back of the tongue. Cocktail appropriate. After breathing, honey, strong salted caramel, maple sugar, wlanut, and cigar aromas, mellower. Slight roasted peach.
