High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed February 16, 2018 (edited April 14, 2018)Ample smoke, fruitcake tartness, salt-rub finish. Probably the most accurately named whiskey drink on the market. You’ll be reminded of campfires from childhood; and start looking over your shoulder for s’mores. -
Laws Straight Corn Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond (2017 Release)
Corn — Colorado, USA
Reviewed February 1, 2018 (edited April 18, 2018)Can’t be too poetic, it tastes like corn. Yet, it’s shockingly good stuff. Much more flavor and character than expected for a “corn only” option. The depth and richness will make it disappear quite quickly. -
Old Ripy Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Small bottle, big punch!! Drinks an awful lot like a good rye, both spicy and fruity at the same time. Clean finish to boot. -
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2017 (edited January 1, 2018)Light body, salty upfront. Mazola corn oil and smoldering driftwood splinters for flavoring. Sweet too; you’ll think this has Lincoln Co. filtering. Red Herring, NYE 2018! -
Amador Double Barrel Bourbon Finished in Napa Valley Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky (Finished and Bottled in California), USA
Reviewed November 24, 2017Surprisingly tasty. I expected wine barrel finish to be overpowering, but not so. Subtlety is the key ingredient in this one. -
Johnny Drum Private Stock Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 24, 2017 (edited November 16, 2018)What a find! Dandelions, Fuji apples, wet maple tree bark, and a handful of red hots candy. This is a perfect bottle for gifting to others, regardless of bourbon experience.
