GlenDronach Port Wood
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 22, 2020 (edited June 18, 2022)I like this more than the 12 and 18. I’m into sweeter casks so this is right up my alley. Intermingled berries on the nose with juicy port and sherry right up front along with fresh honey. Incredibly sweet and smooth finish. Pair this with a high grade dark chocolate and you’re in heaven.88.0 USD per Bottle -
Definitely better and more complex than Yamazaki in my opinion. This has fresh citrus notes green apple rain/mist on the nose. It’s also Exceptionally smooth. 96/100. I can’t give this a full rating as the price is ridiculous. Obviously the shortage will subside Within the decade but I feel like even when the supply is high, Hakushu will still be priced around Macallan 12 or higher.199.0 USD per Bottle

Liquid gold. One of the best whiskies I’ve had to date. I could careless if it’s blended, it’s of supreme quality from Chivas who produce nothing but tremendous drams. The nose is excellent: caramel, honey, vanilla, treacle, and mixed fruits. The grains are extremely mature. No alcohol on the nose either. The palate is a swish of brilliance and the finish is beyond smooth. This is definitely better than the 18 (which is excellent too). The price is worth it for sure. 100/100 easy289.0 USD per Bottle

Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed March 31, 2020 (edited August 29, 2022)I literally started laughing when I initially nosed this grand master. I couldn’t stop laughing at how absurdly complex and great this dram is. It’s so smooth, it’s almost dangerous to own. You might drop a few quid on it early in the day and later in the day you see it’s already half gone. Nose is beyond complex, foggy mist in the distance, muddled berries, sherry and faint smoke. You can’t list every flavor, it’s incredibly mature and complex. Zero alcohol burn on the nose. Strong spicy sweet finish that’s BEYOND smooth. 100/100 Better than any 18 year I’ve had so far and I’ve had nearly all the great ones.150.0 USD per Bottle -
Substantially better than the 18. Rumor has it that this dram contains stuff over 30 years and the nose definitely shows it. The 18 was great but this has zero alcohol on the nose and it’s at 46% which is crazy for that. It’s a dessert dram and very complex. Finish is very sweet and smooth. Easily one of my all time favorites. The price is extremely cheap for what you get. 100/100210.0 USD per Bottle

Macallan 25 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 31, 2020 (edited July 8, 2022)Insane. Sherry never smelt more clear or powerful. The finish lasts for days and is beyond smooth. You’re always gonna have haters, but Macallan produce extraordinary whiskies that are some of the best in the world and they command a high price for them. But if you’re a Macallan lover like me and are lucky enough to afford it, don’t think twice. It’s a 100/1001900.0 USD per Bottle -
Edradour 10 Year The Distillery Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 31, 2020 (edited February 13, 2022)I’m finding it hard after hundreds of drams to find something remotely close to Edradour. I’ve had many older whiskies (some well over 25 years old) that cant really top my love for Edradour. They produce an unusual single malt. The nose is spectacular and it resonates with my personal tastes more than any dram. A complex malty butterscotch nuttiness that is unlike anything else. Literally a 100/100 especially for the age.59.0 USD per Bottle
