Tastes

Batch 58, it was New Year's Eve, so I haven't yet done a proper tasting and explored with water... but WOW, at full strength I got a super exciting sherried adventure in the mouth.

Appearance: tawny, thin, lots of legs Nose: caramel, butterscotch, wisps of nail polish remover Mouth: silky texture hits the tongue like water with a very distant hint of vanilla, followed by a blast of spice Finish: warm, then hollow... a tingling that makes one ask "where the hell did all the flavor go?"... followed by a lingering aftertaste of shoeleather. Tldr; smells beautiful, sips super smooth, tastes surprisingly boring beyond the spicy tingle.

unclear on if this is actually what I was served (the bar called it "Talisker Distilled" and spent 10 minutes looking for the bottle), but this tasted like childhood memories by a camp fire followed by just enough burst of warmth to entice another slow indulgent sip

smelled of fruit and butterscotch, tasted disappointing with some cereal flavors but nothing I expected from the rich color and aroma.

new to Scotch, but this smells beautiful like the inside of a candy shop, with sweet and nutty flavors to start followed by a smokey chocolate warmth... I wish I'd bought two.
