Rich and smooth...sweet...Taste is Just right for an after dinner sip with a little bit of dark chocolate snack...It really opens up with a teaspoon of water...goes down very quickly so beware! Well worth it’s price. A bit richer than Ron Zacapa 23. The best way for me to describe this Rum is somewhere between el dorado 12 and Ron Zacapa 23. My Favorite rn34.0 USD per Bottle

Caffo Vecchio Amaro del Capo
Amaro — Calabria, Italy
Reviewed December 31, 2018 (edited October 16, 2020)The closest thing to Amaro Montenegro...A tad bit less sweet....Excellent -
Smooth, Intense, not sweet but has a bit of sweetness, just enough, dry but not too dry...just right...Cognac is there somewhere in the taste but not as overpowering as some of the other XO rums..If I had to complain about anything it would be that I wish it was just a little bit more Rich...a tad bit thicker as it feels really thin...a blend of up to 10-18 year old rums From Guatemala...distilled from Molasses then sent to France to mature in Cognac barrels for 6 months....Bottled in France but Aged for 99% of its life in Guatemala...Glass Bottle feels European, like a fine Cognac....I got a great deal at Total Wines and spirits in Westbury NY...on Sale 38.99$.....Everyday price 44.99$......I would not have been mad with this bottle if I payed 75-100$...It’s that good...Neat was excellent and with a cube of ice it went down way to fast...I was buzzed before I looked up to admire the bottle again44.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine Spirits & More

Honestly, To me, this is a poor mans version of the Zacapa 23....it does has more residual taste which lasts very long after it goes down....Not only Lighter in color when compared to Zacapa 23 but it tastes lighter as well, to me the flavor isn’t as rich...Still something to try and may fit your taste buds...But I’ll be using this for some high quality rum and coke...Not a sipper if you got the other stuff....I much rather have Santa Teresa 1796, Plantation xo, Zacapa 23 all better in my eyes3199.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine Spirits & More

For me there is nothing better as an Amaro...You take 3-4 ounces after a meal with an ice cube and it’s the perfect Digestivo...It’s considered on the sweeter side of Italian Amaro but it’s the best...hard to describe the taste because it’s got so much going on...It’s a medicinal alcoholic beverage with a touch of sweetness...It’s so enjoyable after a meal that it will quell your sweet tooth and keep you from devouring a slice of cake
