Starward Two-Fold Double Grain
Other Whiskey — Victoria , Australia
Reviewed October 1, 2019 (edited November 24, 2019)Somewhere between Balvenie Doublewood and Gretzky's No. 99 Red Cask. Fruity, balanced, and delicious, if not overly-sweet. A tad on the thin side, neat is my preferred pour. A steal at retail, if available.32.0 USD per Bottle -
Highland Park Magnus
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 17, 2018 (edited May 23, 2019)It's not the most complex whisky in the world. It's far the most boring, however. If you find Bowmore 12 friendly and pleasant, you'll feel the same about this. It's very similar to that or Classic Laddie but replace the brine and saltiness of both with a hint of traditional peat and add a bit of citrus for good measure. It's an ultra-drinkable, friendly dram to enjoy when you want to relax while enjoying something nice without letting it steal the thunder of whatever you're doing while you sip. -
White Walker by Johnnie Walker
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed November 8, 2018 (edited December 9, 2018)A great sipper. Nothing but friendly going on here. Caramel, honey, a little heat - from the youth of what's in the bottle I'm sure, but pleasant. Not overly complex. A magnificent (wink wink) background whiskey. -
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 8, 2018 (edited April 3, 2019)Friendly. A less ashy version of Bowmore 12 with the salt and brine of Talisker. It's not going to appeal to Ardbeg/Laphroaig/Lagavulin die-hards but everyone else should find something to enjoy here.
