Tastes

Whipped honey butter and vanilla with oak on the nose. Tastes young and hot. Almost anise-like numbing on the sides of the pallette and an astringent linger. I could sit and sniff this all day, but, personally, that's the limit of enjoyment I can get from this one.

Surprisingly mild, but still complex. Very approachable and easy to enjoy.

Surprisingly aggressive, bordering on scotch territory. Oak and caramel with prominent vanilla on the nose.

Vanilla forward but not overpowering. Also not as smooth as most bourbon, almost a sweet scotch in a way yet still balanced and cohesive.

Surprisingly mellow for the strength. Quite smokey on the nose but not much peat on the palate. Almost requires a dash of water to bring out the character, but ends up with a rather sharp single-note

Vanilla forward but a bit muddy as it lingers. Not bad but an odd dissonance of high notes and low with a lack of body. Could just be what I'm eating too

Wonderfully smokey but not overpowering. Carmel and oak. Smooth enough I almost can't believe it's cask strenth. Relatively new to whiskey, but I will be looking for a bottle.
