Tastes

This is a nice rye- slightly sweet and caramel, some rye flavor and anise, and then a minty finish. Easy to sip, not too harsh.

SO strong but manages to get some flavors through- oak, caramel, cereal, a bit of rye toast, leather in the finish.

This isn't as smooth as the 14 yr which is one of my all time favorite whiskeys. It has nice sweet caramel & vanilla vibes but a harsher finish with some ethanol sting. I'd much rather spend the money and go for the 14 or 15 yr versions.

I dunno if it's just the name, but I swear I taste some sweet tea in here. A bit of anise, some caramel, oak, not overly spicy finish but a nice bite.

S&W pick. Very smooth for the strength. Brown sugar, cinnamon and faint notes of cherry.

Marshmallow, nut butter, cinnamon. Some nice flavors but finish is a bit harsh.

Nice flavors upfront- butterscotch & cherry & oak- but the finish quickly fades into a grassy, dusty bitterness that gives away its young age. This is decent to sip on but nothing unusual or particularly delicious.

Chocolate covered cherries with a quite spicy, slightly ethanol finish.

A little disappointing- tasted this third after the 1897 and 1910 and expected it to be a lot richer but it was too ethanol forward and not terribly complex. Some licorice, a hint of nuttiness, a finish on the bitter side. I like this, don't love it.

Nutty, citrus, Graham cracker, spice. A little on the bitter side, though, and a little harsh.
