I cannot help but compare it to my Dalmore 12. I got it for $120. It costs more than twice than the 12 but IMO makes it up for being a more complex and enjoyable dram. The 12 is a daily sipper this one could too if not for the price. This became my fave Dalmore that I would serve only on special occassions. I know this sometimes be found costing north of $200. At that price point I would not buy it again but I highly recommend this if you can get it close to MSRP.

My absolute fave. Often times people would say oh this is not my top or there are better bottles that only cost this much and so on and so forth. I respect their opinion but it does not determine/affect my own personal taste and neither it should for anyone else. Having said that, I purchased this bottle despite the steep price because of how everything about it screams special in connection to my own personal life. For that alone, its value already weighs as heavy as gold. And I know that whenever I'll take a sip, all the wonderful memories will come rushing back. So special bottles should have other qualities besides the superb nose/taste if they command such prices. This edition of boss hog hits everything FOR ME perfectly.

On the nose some fruit citrus and a lot of cocoa, medium finish. Sweet, chocolate, vanilla taste on the palate. Very smooth and easy to drink. An awesome scotch and became one of my favorite scotch so far. I can't wait to taste the 18. I would buy again for $60 and below.

Not a popular drink in my family, they are in the opposite camp in the smoky scotch spectrum. But hey it means more lagavulin for me. :) Reminds me of the smell of tinapa, a dried fish sold in Pangasinan Philippines which brings a whole lot of great memories. always a 5 star drink.

I will make sure to stock my closet with this perfect scotch. Less smoky than the 16 but a little bit sweeter(which I always look for in my dram) and more complex flavors. My favorite scotch and always a 5 star drink. Sells around $85.

a great sweet dram when I want to vary my drink from my all time fave lagavulin distiller's ed. if I see this at around $90 will buy it again.

My first tasting note. For me the best bourbon I have tasted so far. Vanilla, caramel pineapple on the nose. After sitting there for awhile I can smell coconut. Sweet taste just the way I like it. A perfect bourbon.
