Tastes

Sweet, vanilla, faint raspberry, some spicyness and white pepper on the back of the tongue. Tastes quite young. Not a smooth dram, but interesting.

Citrusy like most Glenmorangies I have tried so far. But also nutty, sweet, a bit spicy on the palate. Faint white pepper? Perhaps ginger chocolate? A rather dry medium finish.

Really enjoyed this. Fruity, especially tropical fruits, but sweet, not sour. Some crispy green apples, but again, the freshness, not the sour notes. Really well-rounded flavors. Sweet honey. And of course, the peat and smoke to balance the sweet and fruit. Much more mellow than the younger editions of Laphroaig, but oh so delicious... this is why I love single malt whisky!

Oaky, dry tannins, red grapes, all the things you expect when knowing this was matured on Bordeaux barrels. Had difficulties finding other layers of flavor. There is also some sweetness and smoke. Enjoyed it with some dark chocolate.

Sweet, spicy, cloves, cinnamon, leather, tobacco, long and lingering finish.

Nose is peaty but also some sweetness, ripe banana, ginger, green apples. On the palate, more spicy, peppery, a little bit of lemon peel, campfire smoke. The smoke lingers, dry finish.

Heavy sherry notes, dark prunes, dark raisins, buckwheat honey, dry medium finish. Needs some time to get to the different layers of flavors.

Bonfire smoke and ashes. On the palate some vanilla and chocolate. Smoke and peat flavors last a long time with some peppery notes mid-finish. Loved this when I tasted it for the first time over 20 years ago and still love it now!

Vanilla, caramel, very ripe bananas, quite alcoholic, sharp rather than smooth.

Expert review states “straightforward sweet, smoky, salty dram”. Cannot summarize it more accurately. More detailed flavors: something citrusy, smoked ham, peppered salami, then sweet honey starts to dominate. Smoke is also there till the end. Medium to long finish. Pleasant NAS bottling. Would certainly buy this again.
