Tastes

Unique. Very sweet owing to the corn. Raw, almost moonshine, but more refined up front. But settles into a vanilla caramel finish.

Distinctively Glenrothes but a little lighter than the standard reserves, most likely due to the single aging cask. Very bright and very drinkable. Excellent with a splash of water.

At this price point it's a solid whiskey. Sweet but thin, a smooth finish to the point of almost being dull but not at all objectionable. The better side of average.

Good, not great. Has a nice nose, very fruity and pleasant. The up front flavor is kind of weak but sweet that slowly reveals a slow burn. Corn to rye more or less. Would probably make a solid manhattan.

Sweet and spicy. A punch in the mouth with a cinnamon intensity. Ends with a caramel sweetness.

Buttery up front with a spicy finish that builds over time.
