Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Series No. 2
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 20, 2019This 43% ABV expression of Jack Daniel’s Old Number 7 is beautiful. Hard to find, but if you can get your hands on it very much worth the investment. On the nose: Strong and powerful notes of sweetness. Banana, caramel, brown sugar. Extremely inviting. On the palate: Nose elements all present in spades. Beautiful flavour escalates slowly as you move a small amount around the back of your tongue for several seconds before swallowing. Liquid gold. I recommend a first small sip, not held in the mouth for very long. Then have a good sip of water. Palate should be primed for a great experience now as you slowly enjoy this dram. Each taste gets better and better as you go. -
Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye
Canadian — Manitoba, Canada
Reviewed June 11, 2019 (edited August 28, 2019)This won whisky of the year for a reason back in 2016 and for the price is an excellent bottle to regularly have in your collection. On the nose: Sweetness, Perfect amount of Rye, and subtle barrel. Overall classy depth. On the pallet: Sip a bit and let this roll over and under the back of your tongue (at room temperature) several times while inhaling a bit of breath in between. Rich and full sweetness tempered by Rye and oak mix together create a blissful experience that continues to get better as your glass gets lower over the course of the entire experience. This is best enjoyed neat at room temperature. -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 3, 2019 (edited July 4, 2019)Absolutely amazing neat. Does not need anything added. If you sometimes add a bit of water to your dram try a smaller sip and roll in your mouth longer with this one before adding water. Nose: Rich nose, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla and banana all present in spades. One of the best Jack Daniel’s noses I have experienced. Pallet: Full flavour, nose elements all present and extremely satisfying. Long rich finish that is rewarding and relaxing. Overall one of the best Jack Daniels products available. Highly recommended. Almost too drinkable! -
Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Series No. 4
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 14, 2019On the nose, banana and sweet caramel. Subtle barrel. Flavour is rich and tasty, similar to nose. Medium finish with a gentle warmth remaining for a pleasurable amount of time. Enjoyable to sip neat as it evolves in the air over time and gets better as you go. Adding water not recommended. Neat at room temperature preferred. -
Light and fruity on nose. Taste is similar to nose and the finish is quick. No need for water whatsoever. On ice would probably dilute flavour and smell substantially but would make for a refreshing beverage on a hot day. For people new to whisk(e)y this is a phenomenal introduction especially for the ladies. Very minimal alcohol burn and it’s also a great mixer. Needs to be on every whisk(e)y drinkers shelf either for laid back sipping neat or when friends/family come over and would like to have a great mixed whisky from their best whisk(e)y friend - you!30.0 CAD per Bottle
