Tastes

Its heavy on the oak and heat. Its a real powerhouse bourbon that may be a little too much for someone new to bourbon. I get cherry,vanilla and even a little dark chocolate on the back end of the palate. Its a long hot finish and its hard to sense anything on the nose because the alcohol wollops your nose.

Vanilla on the nose with very little pepper. Brown sugar on the pallate with a little spice on the back end. It finishes quickly so its a great sipper for someone who is new to bourbon.

I have put off tasting this one for years and actually its not bad. It has just enough spice and sweetness to be a good intro into bourbon or it can be a mixer. Its not bad straight either.

Really subtle vanilla on the nose with some Oaky spice almost nutmeg on the palate. It has a slight oily feel to the mouth and the finish is long and spicy. A great sipper neat.

Vanilla smacks you on the nose,but the palate is very subdued and the finish is over very quickly. This is a great mixer or good for shots as it has very little spice

Banana on the nose with a light caramel on the palate. Slight warmth on the way down with a quick finish

Has some banana on the nose with some spicy vanilla on the palate. I guess this is what people describe as "oaky". I like it. Its the most expensive bottle I've ever purchased so I may need to get off the dime more

Opened sweet and had very minimal burn on the back end. Not quite as thick or syrupy and sweet as Larceny,but close. Great sipping neat

Had a double after a nice steak dinner. It seems to be a slightly better version of the original. Its smoother and it doesn't have quite the burn.I had it neat ** 7/3/2020 Update got my own bottle and it tastes even better. The flavors are on the sweet side and have a vanilla character. Still no crazy burn or pepper which is why I like Wheaters
