Sweet apples and brown butter vanilla.

Smells of dark chocolate and Christmas pudding. Evokes the first bit of a dry pudding where first the butter hits your mouth and then you’re chewing on dry raisins and the base. First smell was strongly of dark chocolate, and then on the palate it’s butter and then spicy. Not quite as harmonious as I normally prefer.

This whisky made me sneeze. But it really evoked a memory of sitting by a bon fire on Asilomar beach, sipping some whisky, bundled against the wind.

Evokes: bourbon, burnt caramel, wood spices. 3.4/5

Evokes: a field of tall dried grass on a hot summer’s night.

Evokes: The cozy warmth of a fireplace at the holidays and a pear galette. Citrus, pear, and vanilla, with a mild peat.

Evokes: savoring a steaming plate of dal, rich with coriander and chilies. Burns on the lips but soft on the palate. Mild peat, with herbal and honey notes. An interesting young dram.

Isoamyl acetate, sultanas, and peat. Not as briny as I expected.
