Tastes

Light in color, light in nose, light in taste. Not very complex. Not unpleasant either. The finish is the best part though fleeting. And underwhelming experience.

Had this pour after a taste of Pikesville Rye. High West Double Rye is noticeably lighter. Comparatively, this is delicate. Today, I prefer the High West.

Gifted bottle from bro. This is the third time trying this one. Second time was with ice and it was subdued way too much. This third time is just a small splash of water and this is how I want to drink this from now on. Lots of rye spiciness. Sweet, aromatic, and a medium to full body. Not a tremendous length on the tongue, but you will feel this one as it does drink a bit hot.

Almost out! Nose reminds me of a wheated mash, with vanilla and wood notes. Taste is smooth with a quick spice. Really balanced.

Heavenly. Nose is sweet and aromatic with barrel finishing the olfactory experience. Taste is also sweet and with a wheated heat that's of cinnamon and vanilla. This may be my current favorite. So delicious.

Gifted bottle from bro. Had the neck pour earlier but didn't record. This pour was on ice. Nose with ice is completely diminished. Taste is oaky with a subdued rye background. Thick in the mouth. Refreshing.

Gifted pour from Derek L. Nose is very strong on the oak and vanilla. Also, you can sense the high proof. Taste is sweet, musty, and more oak, perhaps a bit reminiscent of High West's oak. Solid mouthfeel with a good burn that lasts a good while. Slightly bitter at end.

Amazing flavor but didn't sit as well this second taste.
