Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 7, 2019 (edited May 14, 2019)On the nose I get lots of spice, Oak, caramel, and a little hint of maple syrup. On the palate the spice does come through both most likely from the mash bill and the proof. A bit of the spice, cherry sweetness, and a hint of oak. This is one of my favorite go to everyday bourbons. However your mileage may very because it is a single Barrel which means each bottle will be slightly different in flavor. But in think because of this and the price point between $35-40 USD around me, it is an awesome value and holds up to much more expensive bourbons in my opinion. Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 6, 2019 (edited July 12, 2019)On the nose lots of vanilla, honey, and wood notes. Which leads to a very drinkable bourbon. Taste a lot of sweetness that you find in cinnamon with some Barrel punch to it. Overall a great bourbon with a good amount of complexity and very easy drinking. This one is done very well and definitely would buy another. However on that note I do think it is a little bit expensive at around $40 USD. For that price you can find bourbons such as Four Roses Single Barrel, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rarebreed, and a few more that I think have more to offer in the sense of complexity and higher proofs. But if you’re not into Barrel proof bourbons then you will be very pleased with this bottle! On the nose lots of sweetness that you find in tropical fruit. Palate is very drinkable but not overly too complex. It does have those classic bourbon flavors. You get a little bit of oak, honey, vanilla, and again that sweetness comes through almost in a fruit like quality. Buffalo Trace is a great bourbon to always have on hand for company who don’t drink bourbon too often as it is a pretty friendly pour for anyone, but something that any experienced bourbon drinker can enjoy. My ratings: Nose: . 75/1 Complexity: 1/1.5 Drinkability: .75/1.5 Price: .5/.5 Availablity. .25/.5 Total score: 3.25 out 5

On the nose you’ll find lots of lemon peel with a hint of sweetness that you’d find in a sugar cookie, with a hint of a freshly cut grass quality. Palate is also sweet and friendly with hints of cinnamon, honey, and a little bit of tartness on the finish. But overall a classic Irish Whiskey that easy drinking and perfect for a hot day near, over ice, or mixing.

On the nose I found scents of oak, honey, cinnamon, and ripe banana. Palate is sweet and coats the mouth pretty well with flavors of Oak, honey, and that ripe banana taste Jack is known for. This is a great bourbon to drink neat and just goes down very easy. Wish it had a little more on the proof but that’s what the Barrel proof version is for. 😜 Not too overly complex but just an all around great whiskey.

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 31, 2019 (edited May 18, 2019)On the nose, sweet banana and vanilla aroma. Palette the same characteristics are present. Definitely get the Tennessee charcoal filtration flavors which does help with it being mellow and easy to drink. Not overly complex but does have a clingy aftertaste. Good as a mixer, but if you want something to drink neat, you won’t find too much complexity with this one. But still a very classic whiskey.
