The Gauldrons Sherry Cask Finish (2022 Edition)
Blended Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed May 17, 2023Rich dark dried fruits, bit of chocolate and toffee. Bit on the sweeter side but the spice helps keep it balanced. Friends and i smashed half a bottle in once night we enjoyed it so much.140.0 CAD per BottleAngry Otter Liquor @ 248th -
Crown Royal Noble Collection Winter Wheat
Canadian — Manitoba, Canada
Reviewed December 29, 2021 (edited December 27, 2022)Oak and fruit on the nose with some nail polish remover. Candied cherries and vinyl siding tasting. Not bad for CR but a little one note. IMO not worth the $100+CAD but was decent.Maple Ridge -
Ballechin #4 Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 13, 2021 (edited July 27, 2022)Funky sherry barrel on the nose, long smoky peat delivers on the palate. Not overly sweet which is great. I’ll update later after a few as this was the neck pour. After some time and oxidation, I’ve come to enjoy this one a fair bit. It turned into a bandaid tire fire! Absolutely surprised how much this one changed. I’ll def be hunting a second bottle for future.Maple Ridge -
Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
Spiced Rum — US Virgin Islands
Reviewed August 14, 2021 (edited October 28, 2021)My go to affordable mixer, lots of vanilla, brown sugar and spice. It’s not really a sipper but was never intended to be. Not a rum drinker normally but I don’t mind it at all.Maple Ridge -
Vanilla, vanilla cream, like a vanilla toffee creme filling in a pastry. I’ve had Cameronbridge before and this is spot on but definitely more rich. Long dry wood spice, shame it’s only 43%, would have loved to try this a little higher. Regardless it’s easily drinkable, tasty and it would change minds that thought poorly of “blended grain” whisky.Maple Ridge
