Buffalo Trace Kosher Wheat Recipe Straight Bourbon (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

A veiled sweetness on the nose. Maple syrup, Wood sugars, and faint cherry. The taste is very bitey, but leaves a bad taste on the end. Almost like there is artificial sweetener. Nose is better than the taste by far. Short finish with that bad artificial sweetener taste and mouth feel. No reason to have this given what else is in the same price range.

Light straw or toasted lemon color. Smells fresher compared to the Black Label with less spice bite. Less aggressive overall. On the palate it is sort of one note. Just brightness and citrus. There is some mustiness there, but it's faint. Finish is steep and weak. Primary flavor is the wood, but it's been turned way down. Thinking the bottle has oxidized quite a bit with how weak this is on the nose and palate.

Great light yellow amber color. Lots of spice and warmth on the nose comes in velvety. Some apples and maybe a bit of pear follow. The taste is soft up front and takes a bit to come on. Reminds me of flat - maybe even watered down - coca cola. Fruity and rooty, but not overtly so. Finish is short with mild burn. Easy to drink but ultimately limited in what it is and has to offer. Still, not a bad budget bourbon.
