Knob Creek 25th Anniversary Single Barrel Reserve
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 23, 2020 (edited October 26, 2020)In my opinion, this is a pinnacle of bourbon making. Cherry, vanilla, fig, and oak permeate the nose. The mouth feel is rich and buttery. The palate is cherries, caramel, and dark fruits with an oak backbone and a lovely spice. The finish is warming and lingering. I didn't think 120+ proof could be this smooth. Wow.150.0 USD per Bottle -
The flavor is so deep, complex, and strong. If you want all the typical bourbon notes dialed up to 11, this is a potential one for you. I love my cask/barrel strength bourbons, but the heat in this one is borderline overwhelming. I always drink my bourbons neat, and this one might require a bit of water (I hate saying that).65.0 USD per Bottle

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 23, 2020 (edited June 24, 2020)Lacks the richness of the 107. Good taste with an oily and somewhat thin mouthfeel. It has the flavor profile of a Weller, though, so that's something.35.0 USD per Bottle -
Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Special Reserve
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed June 23, 2020 (edited March 16, 2021)I don't get it. I know I'm not a big fan of Irish whiskey in general, but I have a hard time finishing a glass of this stuff. I regret the purchase for sure. I actually like the regular DEW as an easy drinker, but this went in the wrong direction for me.
