Tastes

Sweet, fruity nose. Peach and cinnamon palate. All cinnamon finish. Slightly boozy at first sip, but it builds and lingers. Drier than the aroma would suggest. Bit of a tannic bite around the edges of the tongue. Good for the price, but nothing terribly special.

Christmas in a glass. Spice dominates. Cinnamon, cardamom bread, spearmint. Coffee and coffee cake dripping with honey comes in as a balancer. Christmas sugar cookies - wth, why not? Dried citrus fruit, cherries, and vanilla ride atop. Hint of smoke and tobacco. Finish is looooong and spicy. Faint hint of a hop-like bitterness too. Burns, but not an alcohol burn. Kinda odd that way. Very interesting, complicated, and good, but also overpowering. Hard to imagine as a regular dram.

Unimpressive for the cost. Label and website say all 10 year old for the blend. Unsure of the year otherwise. No reference to rye. Maybe I misunderstand. Very spicy. Good body. Some vanilla, some fruit. Maybe citrus. Indistinguishable, sadly. Hard to pull apart flavors. Long finish, but same problem - hard to separate. Wouldn't buy again.

Fantastic. Chocolate, peppermint, caramel, leather, smoke. Good spicy bite. Good body. Long finish. Best I've had so far.

Scotch forward. Dark fruit like prune and raisin. Sweet and heavy. Smoke and spice. Dark and warm. Interesting in its own way, but overpriced for what it is. Not my jam, not a keeper for me.

Very fruity. Strawberry and peach. Spicy under that. Boozy, but in a good way. Caramel and sweet. Medium body. Good bite. Mostly sweet, but not overwhelming. Smooth for the price. Long finish. Great value. Should be great for elevated mixed drinks. Worth keeping in house at all times.

Dried fruit on the nose. Tannic bite (if that makes sense for a scotch). Medium body, but a bit chewy. Lots of port from start to finish. Bit of almond. Peated like a real scotch (guess it is). Slightly sour on the finish. Good, but not worth the price.

Spicy with a lot of black licorice. Bit of rye. Some dried fruit and caramel. Overpowering, generally.
