Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 15, 2022 (edited November 16, 2022)Rounded flavors. Caramel, slight cinnamon, orange zest. Very pleasant. On the nights where the nuttiness comes through I really love this. -
Little bit of cherry up front, finish is like a slice of bread (although that might just be in my head because I’m thinking about wheat). Overall there’s nothing wrong with this, and if you can find it at MSRP it’s a great value. There’s some fun in coming across a bottle that happens to be hard to find even if it might not be anything special.

It’s hard for me to rate this. Most days I get why people love it so much as the honey sweetness and cinnamon spice is so distinct. But there’s often this cigarette smoke vibe that tends to stick around that I find off-putting. Everyone once in a while though (such as today) it’s not there, and on those special days this is hard to beat.

Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed April 30, 2022 (edited November 29, 2022)My nose doesn’t seem to work very well some of the time, but the green apple nose on this whiskey is more distinct than any I can remember. The palate is very light given the proof, but thick and oily. Pears transition to a little coconut on the finish. -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 23, 2022 (edited July 14, 2022)It’s tasting completely different than last time I tried it. I remember orange zest and rye spice. Now it’s strawberries and cream, bubblegum, and cotton candy with a little spice at the end. Not the normal fruit flavors I tend to get from a bourbon but am really enjoying it.
