Flat vanilla coke is dead on. Finish is sweet, but short. Wish I could find the 86 proof, because I think this would shine closer to barrel proof.

More woody and dry than the 2011 offering? Maybe a tad. But for $21, this is a stellar bourbon. Always a good choice in my opinion.

Little hot and young, but very delicate fruit flavors. No sign of peat. More floral than something like Loch Lomond, with less pear.

A tad too sweet for my taste. Honey, vanilla, and the faint whispers of peat. Demands an ice cube to tone down the vanilla. For blended under $50, I'll take Monkey Shoulder all day long.
