Benriach The Smoky Ten
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 6, 2023 (edited January 31, 2024)Solid and underrated. Its got the typical honey malt and fruity spice flavors as most Speysides, but with a light peat smoke and some nice barrel influence to balance it all out. Well done 👍🥃 -
Tequila Arette Artesanal Suave Añejo
Tequila Añejo — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed December 28, 2022For me it's one of the best anejo tequilas I've ever tasted. Smooth smooth smooth and well balanced. You can still taste the slightly sweet earthy agave flavors and the hint of barrel complements it very nice. Try one if you come across it. -
Tequila Arette Gran Clase Extra Añejo
Tequila Extra Añejo — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed December 28, 20226 years in Jack Daniels barrels might be a little too much. The barrel flavors have almost completely taken over to the point where there are very little tequila / agave flavors left. It's an acquired taste. It almost tastes like watered down JD. I prefer the regular anejo at 2-1/2 yrs of aging. -
Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed May 25, 2022 (edited July 7, 2022)Funky, not what I was expecting from this blend of single malts. It's multi dimensional but not in a good way. My Glenfiddich 14 is superior to this. It's ok considering the price point. -
Oban Bay Reserve (Game of Thrones-The Night's Watch)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 8, 2022 (edited August 6, 2023)Barely decent. It's smells and tastes kinda cheap and has a raspy alc burn to it. Not too pleasant even with a drop or two of water in it. Do yourself a flavor and get the Oban 14 instead of this. Youll thank me later. -
Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 10, 2021Pretty solid. Excellent for the price point $37. Nice n smooth I get woodsy oakey vanilla flavors coming thru. If I were to nit pick it I'd say it has a kinda short and dry finish and that's it. Try one 👍🥃 -
Lagavulin 2002 Distillers Edition (Bottled 2018)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 6, 2021 (edited June 24, 2021)Wow, this is an excellent whiskey. Think of a Laga 16 with any of the perceived rough edges of which there are few to none totally smoothed out. It's also a little heavier on the sherry flavor and not quite as peaty as the 16. It's excellent. Try one. 👍🥃 -
Auchentoshan 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 15, 2021 (edited May 16, 2021)Pretty simple and straight forward nothing too complex. I don't think you can complain given the price point $29. To me it tastes very similar to an Irish single malt with a touch more body.
