Braddock Oak Single Barrel Rye
Rye — Virginia, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited April 23, 2022)Nose. Red wine and meat with a little bread. There’s wheat on this. Vinegar. Taste. Light moutfeel. Mineral- like. Tastes like there’s barley in the mashbill but there isn’t. Tastes like a rye single malt. Lots of honey and fruit. Stone fruit with mild spice. -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2020 (edited January 22, 2020)Nose. A little ethanol, mild toffee, maybe tobacco or that was the cigar, no oak that I can find. Taste: candy. Super sweet. Almost sassparilla. Some oak presence. Very oily mouthfeel. The spice is mild. It’s almost medicinal on the back end which i normally associate with dark cherries. The less in the glass the more oak I smell: there’s a mineral wAter quality to the mouthfeel. -
