Tastes

Beautifully balanced. Toffee, oats and spice reveal themselves in turn. Sea salt is sprinkled throughout giving a unmistakable maritime taste. A great daily dram.

Still great, but no longer truly great. The pepper notes have faded and the carbolic nature if the malt seems over abundant. Sea spray and lemon throughout. The ABV helps, but at times the 10 seems stretched thin.

Last of the great line. A sad reminder of what a once great distiller could do. Toothsome and still smooth. A Masterclass in cask marrying. Macallan need to refocus their attention on malts like this, rather than their asinine attempt to sate new markets with a NAS line based on colour. A picture of what was once great.

Lovely balance. The Pedro Ximenez casks bring the malt too close to raisins, but there is enough restraint to keep it balanced.

This is a beauty. Perfect interplay of citrus notes with the malt. Delicate aperitif.

The 2013 is a very successful use of ACE with some well selected Oloroso casks. The sherry doesn't overpower but brings out the richness in the phenols. Very well constructed. Best NAS available now.
