Summary: It looked interesting, around $30 ish, over 50%ABV (Label says Cask Strength too!) and finished in Oak Staves (think Marker's wood series or private select) and a double gold @ SF!!! My first drain pour (swear!). Should have just gotten a regular Knob Creek... ok, the review: The color: Darker than most bourbon's - probably due to the extra charred French Oak Staves for the finish. No Age statement on this one but it is made with Hetchy Hetch water (NW Yosemite valley glacial water from Ca.)... the glacial water probably had no impact on the manufacturing of this product. The nose was bizzare, artifical/fake and overpoweringly sweet. Unable to pinpoint anything organic in the nose, I'm thinking crappy italian knock-off syrup of some sort. On the pallete: Sweet sickly syrup of unknown or alien origin. I had this around the house for 2 weeks.... tried a dram daily, it never got better and I tried like I did with my 2nd wife! Heed this warning unless your super curious and living on the edge and need a tip over!32.0 USD per Bottle

George Dickel 9 Year Hand Selected Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 30, 2020 (edited September 28, 2020)I want to like this bottle but it's over oaked for my pallet. On a positive note it blows doors on the Basil Hayden dark rye... Since this is a single barrel TW pick, I'll chalk it up to luck of the draw & keep an open mind on Dickel.40.0 USD per Bottle -
this is beam... white label. universally available which is amazing actually. Thinking about going abroad? Think you'll find a bottle of EW SiB or McKenna 10 BiB abroad? You won't... but you will find this. nose. vanilla, butterscotch, sugar water, very light. Nothing offensive here. palette: young sharp oak fighting past sugars and maple syrup and brown sugar. short finish.13.0 USD per BottlePalacio Del Mar

Slaughter House American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — (Bottled in California), USA
Reviewed June 7, 2019 (edited October 14, 2020)Like a bourbon, but better? I guess it depends on the dram. This is sipping juice I'm enjoying. Nice nose and great on the palate. Worth the price of the bottle... and has repeat offender potential!39.99 USD per Bottle -
Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 30, 2019 (edited July 12, 2019)Color: The whisk(e)y is a Dark shade of Amber. Taste: This whisk(e)y taste is refined. It has a better than moderate/typical flavor profile. It has a creamy/oily density to the body and it's a well balanced. This is a very smooth pour with some big bold oak notes in this 12 yr. old pour but it's a symphony that's in tune and in tempo and that oak is the crescendo. I don't see anything I don't like in this pour. This is a more advanced pour then average drams and has a good balance between sweetness and dryness but leans more towards the sweet-side. No burn noticed either! Notes detected include: Cinnamon, Rye, Apple, Orange blossoms, Fresh cut oak, Tons of Butterscotch/Carmel, Honey, Maple Syrup, Tobacco, Vanilla. The nose for this is amazing. My only negative (of sorts)… the finish for this whisk(e)y is medium but overall one of the more pleasant pours I've had this week! If I can find a steady of source of this, it'll always be in-house!59.99 USD per Bottle -
this had a dark shade of Amber. it was rich in the flavor profile. mouthfeel is creamy or oily. pretty well balanced overall. nice and smooth... some big bold notes - must be the oak I guess... nice balance between sweetness or sugar and dryness. I detected some malt, cinnamon, pepper, apple, maybe orange zest, Oak, butterscotch, caramel, honey and vanilla. the bottle is really cheesy the label on the bottle is cheesy and the rumor is this is Blanton Barrel rejected whiskey...
