Tastes

The nose is alcohol, with light fruit, pears, vanilla, candy. The palate is very rich, dark fruits, raisins, sherry, and vanilla. There are hints of sweet tobacco leaf, and very mild oak. The finish is medium length, dry, with lingering sherry. Water makes this peppery, oily, thick, and more sherried.

The nose is alcohol, sherry, and maraschino cherries. The palate is dry, sweet sherry, maraschino cherries, very rich, leather, tobacco, vanilla, caramel candy. The finish is sweet, smooth, and long. Water dors not seem to change the flavours, except to add spice and pepper. It's better neat.

The nose is mostly peat, a bit of vanilla. The palate is tobacco, honey, vanilla, and peat. The peat is quite balanced here, not overpowering. The finish is short, dry, spicy, and smooth.

The nose is seawater and sherry. The palate starts sweet, definite sherry, cloves, brine, and tangy. The finish is dry, slightly bitter, and a bit woody.

The nose is brine and sweet. On the palate there's a sugar rush, dark fruits, licorice, spice, and rum. There are clove and brine notes. The finish is short, spicy, and has a slightly bitter rum flavour.

The nose is all dark fruits, with sweet carrot cake. The palate is hot, very rich, very sweet, dark fruits. The finish is very spicy, quite hot, and lingers.

The nose is sweet, notes of sherry cask and peat. The palate is very much the Spanish Roja cask, with mild peat, and strong spice. The finish is dry, short sherry, long smoke. I feel like what i like best about Ledaig is overwhelmed here.

The nose is mild, peaty, floral, candy, light fruits - pear? The palate is fruity, peaty, smoky, mild, and woody. The finish is very, very short, spicy, hot, with only lingering black licorice notes.

This whiskey has almost no nose. There's just barely an alcohol smell, a very mild sweet candy odor, and a very faint raw Spirit. The palete is a surprising blast of peaty goodness, and although it is not a very complex flavor profile, there are hints of leather and a slight medicinal or metallic tang. The finish is moderately long with hints of peat, wood, spice, and a mild warmness.

The nose is virtually non-existent. Just a bit of alcohol, and a very mild caramel /vanilla. The palate is sweet, with notes of tobacco, bourbon, light fruits, and a bit of citrus. Most of the finish fades away very quickly, leaving just some spiciness without any flavor. This is indeed, very smooth, sweet and mild, with just a hint of lingering heat.
