Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask
Peated Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 12, 2023Rum, chocolate, smoke, oil, a hint of soap, and peat on the nose. It's very rich, earthy, sour, elastoplast, leather, licorice, plastic, smoke, sulfur, tobacco, wood and licorice on the palate. The finish is long, dry, grassy, oily and salty. -
The nose has cane sugar, massive amounts of dark fruits, some grass, port. The palate is full of rich dark fruits ripe cherries, very ripe grapes, I definitely get red licorice, honey, hints of leather, it's slightly salty. The finish is red licorice (Nibs), long, oily, spicy. There is almost a cough medicine flavour on the finish.
