Tastes

The nose is pretty bland, not too many strong aromas come up. The taste hits you first with the corn, then into a deep butter. The butter reminds me of some heavy chardonay butterball wines. On second sip, almost a toasted almond flavor comes through. The finish is short and almost non existent. Almost expected give the ~83 proof on it.

Carmel on the nose. Spicy and hot.

Got vanilla and an open sweetness on the nose. The taste is very spicy after hints of the sweetness and vanilla. It has a decent hug at the end.

Color is a bit light, but pleasant to look at through the beautiful bottle. I was a bit surprised, I was half talked into it at a liquor store while on vacation but found out it is blended MGP whiskey, probably blended in New Jersey then bottled in Kentucky. The nose is sweet n fruity. On the first sip, I get handed a toasted note with a light fennel bite, but then it turns sweet and you get the fruitness from the nose. The more it opens up the sweeter it gets. The finish is plesant and mild for a barrel strength. There is almost too much complexity to get lost in between all the grains involved.

A little hot and thin.

Nose had some caramel on it. It has a nice spice taste that hint of toffee. The finish is somewhere between short and medium. For it's price it is hard to beat.

Nose: very fruity on the nose, almost a strawberry in sweetness. The taste is very sweet as well and mild, mind you this is after a very spicy rye. The finish is short, and flavorful, bringing back the sweetness in the aftertaste. Easy sipper in my opinion but won't knock you out.

On 2nd tasting, the nose is more open. I get more of the spice and pepper behind that port smell. The taste is peppery and spicy, with a nice charred oak included. The finish is long but mild.
