Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2023 (edited February 24, 2024)NEAT NOSE - Pretty pleasant and not harsh. Notes of vanilla, oak, caramel and some floral notes. PALATE -There is a very nice and velvety mouth feel with a hint of spice and cinnamon. Caramel is pretty prominent on the palate as well. FINISH - Medium. BUY - Sure. It’s a good budget bourbon. BUY AGAIN? - It’s widely available and it won’t break the bank. I think it makes for a great daily. I wonder how it stacks up against some of the regular single barrels. -
Neat - on the nose, there is alot of fruity sweetness. The apricot brandy is noticeable on the nose, but not dominant or overwhelming. On the palate, there is alot of fruity sweetness, not necesarrily apricot, just fruit and sweetness. On the finish, there is also that classic and expected rye spice that comes through initially after sipping and sticks around for a little while after swallowing.

Neat - On the nose, it smells pretty good but its also very faint. Typical bourbon notes of corn, vanilla, and honey but they are very faint. So its not a surprise when the aromas dont transfer over to the palate as obviously. On the palate, I get more vanilla than anything. Its very faint, but goes down extremely smooth. The finish lingers pleasantly on the palate and is sweet.

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2023 (edited May 17, 2024)Not the best at all, but drinkable. I prefer most of my whiskey neat and occasionally on the rocks. This one i prefer in a frozen Jack and Coke. This spirit shines for me in that regard. Otherwise, Jack Daniels has much better juice in their single barrel expressions; especially barrel proof!
