I don't usually rate the nose on my whiskies reviews. That changed today. I liked the extremely easy entry and never ending after taste. Better that what I expected for one of the best noses on a Compass Box I've tasted so far.

My heart is broken. This is the first Compass Box not only not to pass my already high expectations for the London House's blends, I need to say I was truly disappointed. John Glasser called this blend a tribute to oak. In fact, they went to great length to impart this subtlely flavoured Scotch with extra depth by combining American bodied casks with French oak heads. Hence. My high expectations. In the end, I am truly sorry to confess I just feel this was a failed experiment based on a brilliant concept and my first broken heart courtesy of my favourite Whisky house in Scotland.

Fantastic 'blend' of new, used, Cognac and limousine casks! Splendid choice. Incredibly I found this extremely similar to a rare Cask Macallan without the sticker price... I can still feel the perfumy notes coming off the glass. Have I gone mad? I loved the Brenne 10

Strong contender to Suntory's other distillery and everyone's favourite Yamazaki

Yes! Amazing stuff. AAA.

I'm not going to rate this one as high as my friend Jose Masú has but it can easily be one of the best Glenfiddichs out there, barring the Ice Storm and the 18 yo.

Superb! Truly my preferred 'dronach so far. If I get my hands on this bottle (trying a sample) that's a buy and keep. Amazing stuff.

I've tried lighter single grains as this feels a bit overpowered for its age.

Let's just say this will not revolt your senses, nor become your favourite Chivas anytime soon

I'm not sure the 18 is worth what you regularly pay for this Dalmore. I found it to be quite similar to the 12, for a lot less pain.
