For this one, I'm coining the term "mullet whiskey" : smooth business in the front, spicy-hot party in the back. And an all-around great sip. This one needs to be on your shelf and in your glass.

If you're new to peated whisky, and you're feeling particularly bold, this is a great place to start. It's odd how much tasting appeal lies in a description of "band-aid and seaweed", but the flavor profile is unmistakeable, and oddly delicious. This bottle quickly became the Scottish dram that I both loved and feared. It's smoking pork and barley over a campfire; it's a salty, sea breeze. And, like many peat-laden whiskies, it's an amazing sipper.
