Reviewed June 8, 2024 (edited November 8, 2024)Nose - honey Taste - oozing sweetness with more honey and vanilla Finish - tapers off here, a bit of clove with a slight nip from the alcohol Score - 4.25, such a easy sipper with lots of sweetness, reminds me of the first scotch I drank, Glenlivet 12, but more refined Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - grapes, stone fruit, and a trace of vanilla, no burn Taste - a bit of oakyness, vanilla with a touch of honey, tingle from the alcohol on the tongue Finish - slight bit of grape flavor with more honey, sweetness that tapers off with a burn left on the tongue for a moment, harsh with the burn at first but settles as the bottle went on Score - 4.0 Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Reviewed April 6, 2024Scene 11, Act 5 Nose - sweetness mixed with the typical rye smell which is faint but there Taste - light, slight sugar with a mix of stone fruit Finish - that port finish comes through, very smooth with little burn Score - 4.5 Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - no burn, I'd like to say a 'soft' peaty essence Taste - much more peat here with a meaty and briney taste Finish - easy and smoky, light to no burn Score - 4.5, very solid, for a higher ABV it's very easy to drink Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Reviewed October 28, 2023 (edited November 5, 2023)Nose - typical whisky smell Taste - very heavy on the smoke like whoa Finish - smoke has enveloped my throat, I'm in a campfire Score - 3.75, smoke is heavy on this one Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -

Reviewed September 19, 2023 (edited February 2, 2024)Nose - a bit of apple, black tea Taste - fruit that has been steeped in various spices Finish - moderate length with more spices and a bit of carmel-like sweetness that sneaks in at the end Score - 4.0, I quite enjoy this one. Not too bold in any specific area or flavor, but a well rounded dram that's easy to like Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - light tquila-ish smell but fades over time as it rests, a touch of smokeyness, not much else but very easy here Taste - smokey and peaty, not medicinal peat, light pear Finish - tingles a bit on the tongue with light smoke carrying through from the taste, no boozyness and very easy to drink, short lasting Score - 3.5, love the light color that looks like water with a dash of white wine Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Nose - quite pungent from a couple feet away, apples, lots of apples at first, like I'm in an orchard. It also hits back with cranberry and sometimes I smell a hint of coffee. It varies with the amount in the bottle and how long it's sitting in the glass, no burn at all Taste - oh man, somewhere Xzibit is asking if you like fruit on fruit with your fruit, so good and smooth Finish - more taste from the palate with maybe a bit of honey here and a some vanilla at the end, little to no burn Score - 5.0, when I'm drinking this I think 'God, this is so f***ing good.' One of my favorites as of yet. What Laga 16 is to Scotch, this is to Japanese whisky.
