Tastes

A bit of honey with it quite floral nose. A little vanilla. Fairly thick, and almost up muted pickle juice in the background. Sweetness of dried cherries over the top, with oak. Hint of spice to finish.

Really surprised by the profile for a Laphroaig. Lots of vanilla and overall sweetness rather than peat and smoke. There's a touch at finish, but you'd be forgiven if you missed it.

It's the layers of flavor that I'm loving. You get the sweet, smooth vanilla but also the spicy notes at finish. Sometimes the dark fruit is forward - plum and grapes - while others it's the lighter honey and wildflowers. Let it linger to embrace the complexity.
