Tastes

Definitely get the red fruit and sweetness from the French Oak barrels, but the flavors didn’t have the depth I expected. A bit hollow when compared with MWND which I expected to be similar. Not as much spice as I anticipated either, especially given the mashbill. Still a tasty dram, but not at ~$80.

Inoffensive, but a bit too spicy and more young corn than I like. Decent enough dram.

Strong and spicy, with medium finish. Subtle sweetness following the initial burn on the mouth. Pleasingly smooth, despite the rather aggressive spice and richness.

Strong smoke on the nose. Very smoky with overtones of peat in the mouth. Smooth finish.
