Brugal Siglo de Oro
Gold Rum — Dominican Republic
Reviewed December 31, 2017 (edited November 1, 2019)Excellent. Not available in the states unless you pay a premium. Essentially as expected, a smoother, richer, higher grade variation of Brugal's own 1888. If you're an avid drinker of Brugal, it's more like a better version of 1888 from years past. -
Lyon Sailors Reserve Rum
Gold Rum — Maryland, USA
Reviewed December 27, 2016 (edited January 4, 2017)Greatly lacks the sweetness of a rum. It also possesses a VERY strong front end odor that is similar to tequilla or mezcal, not molasses or cane sugars. There is a flavor profile but most of it is lost under the nose of alcohol and 'agave'. Should be much more sweet for an aged rum.
