Excellent. Not available in the states unless you pay a premium. Essentially as expected, a smoother, richer, higher grade variation of Brugal's own 1888. If you're an avid drinker of Brugal, it's more like a better version of 1888 from years past.

The new 1888 (the 2018 bottles with the netting) is very disappointing. The older style was much better. Much more caramel and sweetness like the Siglo. The new 1888 is a much darker rum. It's also a lot harsher. I hope for a return to the old ways of Brugal.

Greatly lacks the sweetness of a rum. It also possesses a VERY strong front end odor that is similar to tequilla or mezcal, not molasses or cane sugars. There is a flavor profile but most of it is lost under the nose of alcohol and 'agave'. Should be much more sweet for an aged rum.
