Tastes

Nose was very sweet, with honey and orange peel being pretty dominant. Unfortunately the taste doesn't really reflect the great smell, with a pretty harsh, spicy taste with a lot of young oak/leather. The younger ages in the blend definitely show through, and keep it from being a great sipper for me.

A very soft, tasty single malt. The nose shows some of the raisin notes you would expect for a sherry cask, but not much of it show up on the palate. The palate is very honeyed sweet, with vanilla and a bit of citrus in an relatively oily texture. The finish is pretty disappointing, and where this one loses most of its points for me, it drops off almost immediately. Not a bad whiskey, just better options available for the price. Would gladly drink if offered, but wouldn't buy a bottle.

A totally pleasant whiskey, enjoyable, but not super exciting. The aroma is mostly malt and vanilla, which is mirrored on the palate initially along with strong honey sweetness, followed by a strong herbal/vegetal flavor, almost peppery. This note carries over strongly into the finish, which is fairly long. Overall, I would be happy to drink this if offered, and would even enjoy it as a gift, but it isn't quite interesting enough to buy again unless it was a great sale.

This is phenomenal! I get a surprisingly low amount of heat for the proof (53% for the 50mL sampler I got), with a lot of oak up front and a silky mouthfeel. The palate follows up with bitter chocolate and a bit of funk, with a very long finish of the chocolate and oak. I really enjoy this one for the depth of flavor and complexity, and could definitely see myself picking up a full bottle!

Not terrible, but not really interesting either. It's so smooth that it's almost flat, with only a little bit of oak/cinammon near the end. Wouldn't refuse to drink it if offered, but won't be buying again

Very smooth and a little sweet at first, with a lightly hopped and dry finish. Decent, but not amazing, wouldn't buy a full bottle

Totally middle of the road. Not terrible, but nothing interesting or exciting. Corn, cereal, and sweetness on the nose, and the same with maybe a little bit of peanut on the palate. Fine to mix, passable if drinking neat, wouldn't seek out to buy, but would accept a drink if offered.
