A new favorite! Ten years makes it smooth but full flavored. Nicely sweet up front. Had moderate heat in middle and a finish like a cola. Really love it. Relating it to another top-notch Bourbon Blanton’s: Russels’ wins three out of four. It’s sweeter up front, more full flavored throughout and just the right amount of heat. Blanton’s only wins one out of four for finishing like a doctor pepper. With that said Russels finish is still lovely. Making it really one of the best. Relating it to the Russels distillers’ Wild Turkey line, I’ve had Wild Turkey Rare Breed 116.8. The 90 proof is my sweet spot. WTRB 116.8 was so high octane it was distracting. WTRB is sweet and shares the same background as Russels’ which is a plus but not nearly as complex and wonderful as Russels’ Reserve 10 Year.

A go to. Sweet. Cherry. Smooth. Nice moderate heat.

Delicious. Smooth. Some mild heat. Cherry.

Smooth yet potent. Caramel. Can taste a bit of port on the backside.

The originator of wheat whiskeys. Seven year aging means amazingly smooth. Sweet and floral. Woodford being only two years aged has this nice nut/cereal up front turning to sweet. This is smooth and sweet then getting a bit sweeter.
