George Remus Single Barrel Straight Bourbon (2020 Release)
Bourbon — Indiana , USA
Reviewed December 17, 2021 (edited March 1, 2022)Aroma: Classic bourbon but you need to let it open up otherwise it's very hot. Brown sugar, cherries and oak really come through. Taste: the aroma carries into the taste and wow this single barrel was so rich and has a great mouth feel. Has a moderately long finish with brown sugar and sweet oak. Overall: once this opened up it was fantastic. It's not super complex but it's very rich and just great classic bourbon -
Bardstown Bourbon Co. The Prisoner Wine Co. Finish #2
Bourbon — Tennessee (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed November 27, 2021Aroma: cherry, plum, a little oak and vanilla Taste: Has a good amount of wine influence with cherry, plum, berries and dark fruits upfront, however, it quickly turns to Flintstone vitamins on the finish. Overall: I feel like they really missed pairing the finish with the whiskey. It has a lot of potential and each sip starts with great flavor and richness but just quickly fades into a very mineral forward finish. It's almost like someone sprinkled in Flintstone vitamins into a glass of prisoner wine -
