Strong herbal/floral notes and citrus on the nose. Inviting but could be a bit much for ‘modern’ gin skeptics. A lot going on here. Sweet citrus, maybe lavender on the palate? Lots of flavor and quite sweet with a slightly viscous mouthfeel. Not a straight sipper, but would hold up well in gin-based cocktails. Surprisingly refreshing in a gin and tonic for a modern gin. Would be a good intro into the cocktail for someone who is skeptical about the dryness/bitterness associated with the category.38.0 USD per Bottle

A great option for those who aren’t yet comfortable with the boldness of many bourbons/scotches, or may be dipping their toes into the whiskey world for the first time. I’m not the biggest Crown fan, but have to admit that this is an easy-to-sip crowd pleaser. I like to host blind taste tests for friends, and all agreed that this was the sweetest of the 4 whiskey roundup. Sweet caramel on the nose that transitions to honey on the palate, and carries through for a surprisingly pleasant finish with a hint of charred oak. If you’re really looking for it, you might be able to find the slightest hint of orange peel. All in all, the price is a bit steep for what you get. However, this would make the perfect first-time celebratory whiskey (I’m thinking 21st birthday) for its approachability and flavor.50.0 USD per Bottle

Artificial strawberry/grape on the nose, not very aromatic beyond that. Tastes like someone mixed a Kool-Aid packet with middle-shelf vodka. The liquid, unlike the bottle suggests, is clear and not actually indigo. I would expect for the price point that they would at least use butterfly pea flower tea to achieve an interesting color, but the only interesting thing about this gin is the bizarre flavor. Snoop fan or not, your money would be better spent elsewhere.30.0 USD per Bottle

Montana Cold Spring Huckleberry Vodka
Flavored Vodka — Bozeman Montana, USA
Reviewed June 3, 2021 (edited August 11, 2021)Tried this one in their distillery in Bozeman, Montana. Very smooth and tasty. I expected an intense hit of alcohol on the nose (as with most fruity vodkas I’ve tasted) but was pleasantly surprised to find none. Clean aroma of fresh huckleberries and spring water. Tasted a good amount of the fruit, but it wasn’t overpowering. One of the better fruity vodkas out there.37.0 USD per Bottle -
New Amsterdam Stratusphere Gin The Original
Distilled Gin — California , USA
Reviewed May 12, 2020 (edited April 19, 2021)Very harsh gin with a strong citrus taste. Alcohol flavor and aroma came through stronger than the quickly-fading pine. Wouldn’t even be on my consideration deck for making a decent gin and tonic.15.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More
