Light rye spice and chocolate greet you on the nose with a faint whiff of citrus. On the palate spice is quickly followed by malty chocolatey sweetness. The "greenness" shows on this whiskey but the balance of flavors really smooth it all out. For rye fans seeking an exciting new take on rye whiskey or anyone wanting to try a great craft whiskey.

This bourbon is so easy going I would consider it a session bourbon. The nose finds mostly vanilla with very slight spice. In the glass it has long medium long legs. Upon tasting you notice balance above all. Noted of vanilla, caramel and honey all dance in equal delight on the tongue. The finish is quick with more honey and a slight trace of barrel. This dram is well rounded and would please all in a crowd.

Aberlour 12 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2016 (edited August 23, 2019)If you want a good session scotch this is it! The sherry influence doesn't over power this whisky yet lends subtle tropical fruit. I find myself constantly comparing this to Dalmore 12 and find the tha Dalmore lacking. This whisky has grain subtlety and spice in balance. The finish is medium with spice and grain. Overall an easy and welcomed simplicity. A great whisky for any night or introducing friends to the category. -
1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 25, 2016 (edited May 12, 2021)This bourbon starts out light on the nose but don't let that fool you. The tongue finds strong oak with some carmel and oak. The finish is long and brings luxardo cherries with more oak abs mild sweetness. The maturity shows in this bourbon and deserves extra sips to discover subtle notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.
