Tastes

Syrupy pancakes, baked apple and cinnamon. Cherry. Vanilla. Oaky spice.

Hard to get past the alcohol aromas at first but this mellows out revealing a sweet malty character. Light citrus notes. Salt and pepper.

The nose is quite pleasant, if generic, orange citrus and sweet malt. Peppery and earthy but a little flat, with a slightly vegetal grassy, smoky finish.

Not much on the nose. Some citrus among the light wafts of alcohol. Initially not much flavour at all. A little bit of creamy toffee and peppery spice. The bitterness of the pepper lingers a little, but all in all a very muted (watered down) dram. Having said that, I wasn’t expecting much but it’s surprisingly smooth and sippable for the only whiskey available on a warm Egyptian winter evening.

Honey. Vanilla. Stone fruit. Smoke and spice.

Very subtle floral and sweet pear on the nose. Feels like a familiar Islay in its brininess but without the smoke. Dry. Just a little fruit and honey sweetness shining through. Give it some time in the glass and the malt notes start to show. Spice and brine hang around for the finish.

Smoke, salt, malt, rosey apples. Touch of vanilla. Charcoal and peppery taste.

Very sweet on the nose, vanilla pudding and fudge. Lots of oak spice to taste with the sweetness sticking around and a long bitter finish.

Toffee and spice. Lots of spice.

Sweet, some vanilla. Malty, slight bitterness. Wholewheat bread.
