Nose: The expected cherry sweet, but thinner than expected, vanilla wood, slightly acrid - perhaps related to the wood aroma? Palate: spice dominates, nicely oily. Cherry is light again. Finish: Lingers. Spice - and that acrid sensation is back. I saw someone compare this to a bourbon, and I get that, perhaps from those vanilla oak notes. Unfortunately, not something that I really appreciate in a Scotch.
