Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 21, 2022 (edited February 2, 2022)Visited this distillery before even hearing of it & flew the bottle home with me to quickly realize it’s readily available at your local liquor store, ha. It’s such a great and easy sipper. I drink it neat. On the nares I initially get sweet port (obvi) with notes of roasted nuts, caramel, maple syrup, powdered sugar, & brown sugar. On the palate I definitely get the delicious port with notes of fruit, toasted nuts, candied nuts, pepper, vanilla, & smoky undertones. One of my favorite sippers that is easily accessible and with an affordable price. Try their rye! 🤤 -
Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 21, 2022 (edited January 24, 2022)I was gifted this bottle from our sweet friends and ex neighbors in Portland, OR- Marc & Cait. The bottle comes from one of our favorite neighborhood liquor stores down the road from our old houses. “Personally selected by: Rose City Liquor #2” on 5/14/21. Tried neat. On the nares it’s nutty & spicy with notes of vanilla, oak, & fruit. On the palate it’s initially hot with notes of toasted/smoked wood and varnish. Disclosure: hard to know if I would have gotten varnish without reading the description but wow do I get it!! -

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 12, 2022 (edited January 15, 2022)Have had multiple times but prior to becoming a distiller fan. Tried neat at the comfort of my home. On the nares I get Vanilla, oak, toffee, dark chocolate, & cherries. On the palate I get spice, red hots, oak, vanilla & rarities of black pepper. To me it gets better with every pour as my palate becomes more experienced and versified in bourbons
