Tastes

Well, bit hyped up, but still one of the very fine spiced rums there. Very balanced, nice hint of vanilla in all that spices with almost no extra burn. Very good with Coke and splash of lime, nice evening sipper, but although too "balanced" for me. No adventure. No extra joy over the "good quality spiced rum" joy. But who can say no to the Sailor Jerry...

This bad boy is beating it's younger sibling out of market. And for good cause. the taste is floverly-sweet and it makes great Mojito, Daiquiri, Piňacolada and Cuba libre. And other coctails as well. and it is old enough to have it's own attitude to present, so drinking neat "young" rums is finally enjoyable (but mostly on the rocks). Essential for cocktail lovers.

Very decent, very smooth rum, with wide sugary sweetness and body with hints of coffee and sweet spice. It has very slight after taste burn. I recommend this one as good bargain with high benefit cost. It's very drinkable rum, decent mixer and simple sipper (with no distinctive or surprising taste, however).

This rum (ron) in leather sack, which is nice but unnecessary - the bottle with crest is beauty by itself. The colour of the rum is in coffee - mahagony - hazelnut brown pallete. Smell is sweet, caramel - chocolate, rich with little alcoholic pinch. The taste is rather sweet, oak with mollase and nuts, but there is that bitter acid aftertaste lingering through every tasting note. Not my favourite rum, but tasty and interesting.

Not strongly smell or taste, this is one delicious rum. Yes, there is a lot of better rums out there, but this one is widely common with decent taste for the buck. The taste is sweet, chocolate and almonds, molasses with little burn. It is the kind of versatile rum, ready for some (heavy) sipping or in some fine cocktails.

One year (and different batch) can make the difference. The fresh alcohol smell (in good sense), light taste with slight burn, you can taste both the honey and the oak cask. This is great rum for those who like it little bit rougher, but still with full taste and sweet tones.

This rum is tasty. Pleasuring taste, nice warmth, beautiful amber-brown colour and delicious smell. This one almost drink itself. Not so distinctive as 12yo, but it's rather complementary to it than being it's weaker brother. It have usual taste palette for middle-aged rums, nothing distinctive, but all well balanced and sugarcoated with some kind of delicious molasses sweetness. For this, it's one of my favourite benefit-cost rums here. Well, isn't the rating here beautiful? I generally like this one, and rate (in it's category its well above average rum) by seven (and a 3/4). Other fella rather dislikes this one and regrets his 18 EUR purchase, all that for rating 7...

Awesome versatile rum for unbeatable price tag. You can step up your Mojitos and Cuba libres with it or use it to train yourself for drinking rums neat. Rich rum taste, oaky but still with distinctive fruity sweetness. It's like Havana tried to do Spiced rum, with less annoying spicy taste and completely without spicing process (which covers up actual rum flavours).

I learn to drink rum neat on this one. It's actually good on the rock (almost as 7 Aňos), and decent neat. It gives extra kick to your drinks. It's like Especial one, but bit better on all sides, and more expensive. The step up from Especial makes it first really sippable rum in Havana Club product line. Make it cheaper and it will kill the Especial in same manner as happened with Blanco and 3 Aňos. Make it more expensive and it will be killed by 7 Aňos (but unlike Blanco and theoretically Expecial it will be missed). with oak-nutmeg-rum fragrancy and nice mild sweet taste, bit citrusy, pineapple and fresh with little heat on end.

Tasted. Drag racer. Fast kick on start and fast in way down. Could be sipped all night long until tomorrow. Nice rum mollase but strong taste. More fruity taste with nuts and nutmeg with rather strong rum alcohol taste.
