You can smell the Smoked hickory, Carmel, vanilla and maple wood, reminds me of bacon and syrup. You can taste a Smokey flavor that is reminiscent of smoked maple syrup, but it is smooth, and I’d say more than slightly sweet. I wish it was less sweet and more of a hint but it almost takes over the knob creek with too much sugar. I’m disappointed, you have to be a big desert whiskey or sugary whisky fan. After adding an ice cube, it diluted the drink enough to finish it with some dashes of biters. I will try mixing it with a cocktail. I hate giving average ratings.... but I’m not going to enjoy this neat.

Giving the Maker’s Mark Cask Stength a try for the first time tonight. Not as strong to the smell as it is with the first taste. The heat fades, but at 110 proof it warms the tongue and belly. With tastes of citrus and hints of charred vanilla. I definitely liked it. I like lower proof personally, I enjoy them better. I’d say it lives up to its price and rating though.

Rebel Yell at the price under $20, is not a bad option if you want to get out of the common or normal Whiskey Bottles. It was sweet but for an 80 proof, it was not as smooth as I like.

I love me some Gentleman Jack. It's one of my favorite Whiskey's to drink neat or on the rocks. I believe that the smoothness rivals bottles into the $50-$100 range. I think that it's smoother than the competitively priced Evan Williams Single barrel. If you like to mix this goes great with an old fashion or even a Mexican Coke. The smoothness comes from being charcoal-mellowed twice, but is still full flavored body. This is a good whiskey for the newer Whiskey Enthusiast, looking to crack into the middle to top shelf. This will always sit with my top shelf, due to the smoothness.

This is good bourbon that most liquor stores carry. Although some stores get them and sell them fast. Due to the smoothness of the Whiskey. I enjoy drinking this neat and on some occasions on the rocks. Easily my favorite Whiskey under $30.
